MEMPHIS LINUX BUSINESS EDITION — VERSION: NARMAR 1.8.0

Memphis Linux Business Edition

Enterprise-grade security. Zero compromise.

One platform that secures your servers, your desktops, and everything between them. Hardened out of the box, runs with or without internet, and never sends your data anywhere.

Memphis Linux Business Edition is a security-hardened Linux operating system platform for organizations. It protects your entire environment — servers, staff desktops, and the management layer that connects them — with one consistent security baseline and zero telemetry.

Your infrastructure was built to serve vendors. Not you.

Commercial operating systems phone home. Security arrives as a stack of add-ons from a dozen vendors. Every staff laptop is a way in. And when the auditors come, the evidence is scattered across all of it.

$4.44M

The global average cost of a single data breach. In the US, it’s $10.22M.

60%

Of breaches involve the human element — a click, a call, a misdirected file. Your people’s desktops are your largest attack surface.

448

Data packets one Windows 11 PC sends to Microsoft every week. Now multiply by every machine you own.

What your enterprise actually needs

Not another security product. A platform where security is already done.

Own Your Data

Everything installs, runs, and updates inside your walls. Zero telemetry, zero phone-home, zero exceptions — and it works with no internet connection at all.

Hardened Everywhere

Servers and staff desktops share one locked-down baseline. The root account is disabled, there are no default passwords, and remote access needs a key — not a guess.

See Everything

Logs from every machine in one place. Configuration pushed from one console. Updates distributed from your own server. One view of your whole estate.

Stop Threats Early

Intrusion detection, file-integrity monitoring, antivirus, and automatic blocking of break-in attempts — built in and switched on. (AIDE, OSSEC, ClamAV, fail2ban)

Prove Compliance

Every action is logged. Hardening is verified on demand and the reports are audit-ready. When the auditors come, the evidence is one command away. (auditd, Lynis, Memphis security checker)

Trust Every Package

Every piece of software is cryptographically signed and verified before it runs, and every installation is traceable to the exact build that produced it.

One platform. Three layers.

Memphis Linux Business Edition secures your environment as one system — not as a collection of products.

Secure core

Your servers. Minimal and hardened, with roughly 200 packages instead of the thousands a typical server ships with — less software means less to attack. Ready for real workloads out of the box: containers (Docker, LXC), automation (Ansible), and file services your teams already use. From power-on to operational in under 30 seconds.

Secure endpoints

Your people’s desktops. A modern desktop (KDE Plasma) that feels familiar from day one — on the same security baseline as your servers. The weakest link in most organizations, removed.

Central command

Your control room. Logs, security policies, and software updates flow through your own Memphis server — one view of the whole estate, and none of it ever leaves the building.

Built like it means it.

Under 30 seconds

from power-on to a working server.

Half a gigabyte

all the memory the base system needs.

~200 packages

instead of the thousands a typical OS ships with.

100% signed

every package cryptographically signed and verified.

0 internet required

installs, runs, and updates fully offline.

2 GB RAM

enough to run it. Your existing hardware probably qualifies.

What's inside every Narmar system

A lean foundation

Built on Alpine Linux 3.22 — a base trusted in security appliances worldwide. Small, fast, and with far less software surface for attackers to probe.

Long-term-support kernel

A Linux LTS kernel, so your system stays stable and patched without surprise changes mid-release.

A modern desktop

KDE Plasma 6 on the desktop editions — smooth, familiar, and comfortable from day one whether you’re coming from Windows or macOS.

Signed, always

Every package is cryptographically signed and verified before it runs. What you install is exactly what we built — nothing in between.

Zero telemetry

No tracking, no usage reporting, no phone-home. This is true across every edition of every Narmar system.

Hardened from first boot

Locked firewall, secured remote access, and security tooling that is already switched on when you first log in.

Why "Narmar"?

Memphis Linux releases carry names from the city of Memphis in ancient Egypt. Narmar was the first pharaoh of a unified Egypt — the ruler who brought separate kingdoms under one crown. Neithotep, our family edition, is named for the queen who protected that first dynasty. Protection and unity: that’s the release in two names.

Choose your Edition

Trust, then verify

Every ISO on the downloads page ships with a SHA checksum and a GPG signature, signed with the Memphis Linux public PGP key. Two commands confirm that what you downloaded is exactly what we released — untouched and unmodified:

gpg --verify narmar-1.8.sha512.sum.asc
sha512sum -c narmar-1.8.sha512.sum

Questions enterprises ask us

Memphis Linux Business Edition is a security-hardened Linux operating system platform for organizations. It secures your entire environment — servers, staff desktops, and the management layer that connects them — with one consistent security baseline and zero telemetry. It is built on Alpine Linux and developed by Khwarizm Consulting.

Yes — completely. Memphis Linux Business Edition installs, runs, and updates from media and servers you control. No internet connection is required at any stage, which makes it suitable for isolated networks, classified environments, and any organization that wants full control over what enters its systems.

No. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, and no data collection of any kind. Nothing on a Memphis system ever reports back to us or to anyone else. Your logs and your data stay inside your organization.

Three things. It is hardened before you touch it — root disabled, no default passwords, key-only remote access, intrusion detection already running. It covers servers and desktops with one security baseline instead of leaving endpoints behind. And every package is cryptographically signed and traceable to the exact build that produced it, so you can trust your software supply chain.

An air-gapped system has no connection to the internet or to outside networks. Memphis Linux Business Edition is designed for this: installation, operation, and updates all work from media you control, so even your most isolated systems stay current and secure.

Yes. The desktop (KDE Plasma) looks and works the way people coming from Windows or macOS expect — familiar layout, standard office applications, no terminal required for daily work.

No — by design. Memphis Linux Business Edition takes the entire disk: a hardened system does not share the machine with another operating system. Deployments start from a clean disk, and our team helps plan the migration and data backup.

Narmar is the current release line of Memphis Linux, version 1.8.0 — a privacy-first, security-hardened operating system built on Alpine Linux. The Pro and Business editions run on it today.

Memphis Linux Pro (free download) and Memphis Linux Business Edition (through our sales team). Neithotep, the family edition, follows the same release line; its current version is 1.6.0.

Narmar was the first pharaoh of a unified ancient Egypt. Memphis Linux release names come from the history of Memphis, Egypt's ancient capital — Neithotep, the family edition, is named for the queen who protected the first dynasty.

Every ISO comes with a SHA checksum and a GPG signature. Check the signature with gpg --verify and the checksum with sha512sum -c using the Memphis Linux public PGP key from the downloads page.

No. Every Memphis Linux edition installs to the entire disk and erases whatever is on it — including any other operating system. Use a dedicated machine and back up your data before installing.
